Former WWE singles competitors and tag teams that could have and should have become even bigger!
The Vaudevillians

When we talk about tag teams that have character, flair, and solidity in the ring, The Vaudevillians may not be at the forefront of your mind. But they should be. In an industry where goofy and questionable characters are mostly loved, it is a shame the group was disbanded. Aiden English and Simon Gotch came together to create something theatrical and entertaining, all the while putting on a few classic matches and even capturing the NXT Tag Team Championships.
Enzo Amore and Big Cass

S-A-W-F-T Saaaaaaawwwwft! Something short lived that should have lasted a Pro Wrestling lifetime. We don't need to get into specifics of their personal lives because those things are none of our business. However, let's discuss how this group never won any tag team gold! At the time, there was no one hotter in the tag team industry other than Enzo, the Certified G and Bonafide stud, and 7ft Tall Big Cass in terms of characterization. WWE had injected new life into its programming by letting this team be the center of the division...and then the dreaded break-up happened. It happened waaaaay too soon. It had been close to a year and a half on Monday Night Raw before we saw Amore and Cass feud and ultimately split. While Enzo Amore would go on to head 205 Live and hold the Cruiserweight Championship, Big Cass never met his full potential on-screen.
Alicia Fox

The first African American Divas Champion in WWE History, and who was given the ball to run with for a short period of time. Alicia Foooooox (in my Noam Daar voice). When you think of entertaining characters that have graced the women's division, Alicia Fox is a character and wrestler that always woke up the crowd. It doesn't matter who the match was against, how big the opponent was, or how crazy she had to act, Alicia Fox was a tremendous competitor in the ring and a solid on-screen character. While we did see Fox mostly portray goofy/over-the-top characters, she was a solid in-ring worker who made every opponent look like a beast. That and she has the best Northern Lights Suplex in the business. How would this character look if taken to further heights?
Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali is an in-ring performers whose passion resonates off the screen. He is a performer that makes each move mean something, and from the time he burst onto the scene in the Cruiserweight Classic until now, Ali is undeniably a talent for the ages. Even being the leader of Retribution wouldn't slow him down. Whether on the mic, face, or heel, Mustafa gave his all every time he graced our television screens. Any company that is lucky enough to snatch up this free agent will be more than happy with Ali as an addition to their roster.
Dolph Ziggler

Talk about a man who can fit any role, wrestle any opponent, and electrify every crowd. Consider some of the performers in this business that have been called the greatest of all time from an in-ring perspective and you cannot go without mentioning, Dolph Ziggler. We of course can get into the significance of his longevity, the consistency of his work, and the fact he took advantage of every moment. But everyone loves a Pro wrestler that can scare them half to death. Whether a monster heel, or a mega babyface, Dolph Ziggler as a multi-time Champion delivered every time all while making the audience think he died a time or ten.
The Lucha Dragons

Why oh why did we have to say goodbye? At a time when Rey Mysterio was out of WWE and doing more independent shows around the world, WWE needed more wrestlers to bring the Luchador style to television. Not only was the group a refresher for Sin Cara who had not been doing much on the screen, but it put an immediate star on Kalisto who had was pulling out flips and tricks you'd only be able to do in a video game. In modern day wrestling, aside from the Young Bucks, FTR, the Briscoe Brothers (RIP Jay Briscoe), the Usos, and The New Day, we don't have too many tag teams that stick around. As of right now, the future of tag team wrestling seems bright but what if the Lucha Dragons we around as a team long term?
Toxic Attraction

Gone too soon. In an already male-dominated industry, it is rare we get a faction of women that get to dominate the division. We have had The Beautiful People, Vince's Devils, Team Bella, and even Team B.A.D. Toxic Attraction, though added to the list of Women Factions in Pro wrestling, could have been solid contender for the greatest one of all time. While Damage CTRL was brewing on Raw and Smackdown, Toxic Attraction seemed to be the group to eventually dominate them. An abrupt release, followed by an even more abrupt disbanding, led Toxic Attraction to the wayside. However, Jayce Jane and Gigi Dolin are still in WWE and have yet to make their way to the main roster. Will we see Mandy Rose return in the future to reform the hottest modern day faction of women ? One can only hope so.
