Let’s just start off by saying heel Kevin Owens is top tier. Coming out of the Royal Rumble 2022, rumors had been swirling about Stone Cold Steve Austin making his long-awaited return to the squared circle for another match. Many were excited while many more were doubtful. All of the chatter was put to rest on the March 7, 2022 edition of Monday Night Raw when Kevin Owens invited the former WWE Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin, to the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. Austin responded just one day later with a video, cutting a promo accepting the invite, and reminding everyone exactly why he is the Texas Rattlesnake.

As anticipation for the confrontation grew, on the March 21, 2022 edition of Monday Night Raw, the show would kick off with the infamous sound of glass breaking followed by a well-deserved pop from the crowd. Several camera cuts later and it seemed as if a certain someone was taking their time coming out to the ring. Long behold, it is Kevin Owens dressed from head to toe as WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin. The boots, the knee pads for those surgically repaired knees, the jean shorts stopping right around the lower thigh, the black broken skull t-shirt, and finally a bald cap that was peeling at the forehead. That joyous adulation from the crowd had quickly turned into a sea of boos, laughter, and disappointment as Chicago realized they had just been bamboozled by Kevin Owens.
