AEW Full Gear 2023 Results and Highlights

If there is a Pay-Per View that you will go back and watch in 2023, AEW Full Gear should have a 100% chance of making it to your list. From top to bottom, all talents delivered a fantastic show which will have a surplus of highlights.
The key story of the night was on AEW World Champion MJF and his leg that was injured by The Gunns after his tag team match with partner Samoa Joe. Later, we would find out Adam Cole would take his spot before many swerves later. Speaking of Swerve, whose house?? It is most definitely Swerve's house. Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page put on a match for the ages. A Texas Deathmatch that will go down as one of the best of all time, and the most violent of all time. Let's get into the results and highlights from AEW Full Gear 2023.
Tag Team Match
MJF & Samoa Joe vs. The Guns
Highlights
Samoa Joe saving MJF from getting thrown into the corner by using his body as a shield
Joe delivering a suicide dive to the Gunns
MJF and Samoa tagging themselves back in, which builds the tension between the two.
Adam Cole makes his way down the ramp with a destraction to the Gunns that helps Samoa Joe and MJF capture the win.
MJF and Samoa Joe shake hands at the end of the match.
The Gunns attack MJF after the match, using a chair multiple times to target the left leg.
Adam Cole, already injured and on crutches has to stand ringside and watch his tag team partner get annihilated without being able to do anything about it.
MJF yells "Promise you won't let them take my championship!" as he is stretchered out of the arena in an ambulance.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out the rest of the night with MJF still needing to defend the AEW World Championship against Jay White.
Trios Match
Christian Cage, Luchasauras, and Nick Wayne vs. Edge, Darby Allin, and Sting
Highlights
Edge, Sting, and Darby Allin all wearing similar gear.
The audience singing Edge's theme music even when it stopped playing.
"Who's your daddy?" chants from the audience.
A momentary faceoff between Edge and Christian, and a "holy sh*t" chant from the audience before Christian shuts it all down by tagging in Luchasaurus.
Luchasaurus gives a brutal chokeslam to Darby Allin on the apron sending him to the outside.
Nick Wayne doing the Ric Flair strut while staring him in the face.
Darby Allin gives Nick Wayne a Code Red from the top rope.
Christian mouths off to Ric Flair which gets Flair riled up. Flair throws off his jacket and throws a couple of chops to Christian before Christian pokes Flair in the eye and nails him with a low blow.
Christian tries to cheat by grabbing the TNT Championship but hits Luchasaurus by mistake.
Edge chases Christian over the barricade and Christian leaves his team to be defeated with Darby Allin taking the win.
Sting gives a final bow in California.
AEW World Championship Match Cancellation?
Tony Schiavone comes out with a referee and Jay White to announce that MJF is unable to compete and that the championship match will not be happening tonight.
Before Tony Schiavone can announce White as the new champion, Adam Coles enters and says he talked to Tony Khan and will be taking MJF's spot to defend the AEW World Championship in the main event.
AEW International Championship
Jon Moxley vs Orange Cassidy
Highlights
Moxley digging his nails into Cassidy's back and raking the imaginary leaves off it
Moxley biting Cassidy on the nose
Cassidy returning the favor with a back rake of his own and a bite on the nose.
Moxley bounces back with a headbutt and Cassidy delivers many that quickly leave Moxley bleeding from the forehead
Cassidy jumps onto Moxley's back and gets Moxley in a chokehold.
Moxley makes his way to the corner and grabs the turnbuckle. The referee grabs on to the back of Cassidy which makes all three of the men fall backwards, snatching the pad off the turnbuckle.
Cassidy dodges Moxley in the corner, sending Moxley headfrst into the exposed corner. Cassidy kicks Moxley back into the corner, going headfirst again.
Cassidy hits several "Orange Punches" and "The Beach Break" to get the win over Moxley and retain the AEW International Championship.
AEW Women's World Championship
Toni Storm vs Hikaru Shida
Highlights
Cut to Mariah May who watches the match from the back.
Hip toss from the top ring rope from Storm to Shida.
Storm gets caught trying to use a shoe, the referee catches it and takes the shoe, but Toni has the second shoe in her other hand and hits Shida right in the head with the heel before tossing it to the crowd and laying Shida down for a two count.
Storm reverses the Falcon Arrow into an Ankle Lock
Storm missed with the shoe again, and as Shida grabs her kendo stick, Luther interferes and ends up getting mauled by Shida.
Storm inserts a steel plate into her shorts and hits Shida with the corner hip attack to win the match and become 3-Time AEW Women's World Champion

AEW World Tag Team Championship - Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match
House of Black vs Ricky Starks and Big Bill vs FTR vs La Faccion Ingobernables (Rush and Dralistico)
Highlights
Rush and Cash Wheeler both climb the ladder, acknowledge each other, climb back down, and move the ladder out of the way to fight each other. (That's what I call fair fighting).
Cash Wheeler gives Absolute Ricky Starks a Superplex to the outside ontop of the other opponents.
Every Brody King and Big Bill moment
Dax Harwood and Rush squishing Brody and Big Bill
Dax Harwood puts the ladder through one of the rungs, and Dralistico hits him with a springboard dropkick
Malakai Black uses the ropes to spring the ladder into Cash Wheeler who runs directly into the ladder.
Cash Wheeler gives a piledriver to Malakai Black on the Ladder bridged on the bottom turnbuckle.
Brody King gives a Gonzo Bomb to Dralistico on the ladder that is bridged between the ring and the barricade
Cash Wheeler gives Brody King a Diving Crossbody onto the same bridged ladder
Starks climbs the ladder and uses the championship to knock Dax Harwood off the ladder before taking down the first championship and dropping it to Big Bill and the second to declare victory and retain the AEW World Tag Team Championshps.
TBS Championship
Julia Hart vs Skye Blue vs Kris Statlander
Highlights
Kris Statlander body slams Sky Blue, and then body slams Julia Hart on top of her
Julia Hart gives a somersault to Statlander on the outside.
Skye Blue Gives a diving Hurracanrana to Statlander on the outside from the apron.
Statlander showcases her strength with a double suplex to Hart and Blue
Kris Statlander reverses a top rope hurrancarana from Skye Blue into an Electric Chair Facebuster
Julia Hart goes for a pin on Skye Blue with moonsault, but is pulled out of the ring by Statlander at two
Skye Blue hits a rolling Code Blue on Statlander
Kris Statlander hits the Big Bang Theory on Skye Blue, and Julia Hart immediately breaks up the pin with a running lariat to Statlander and gets the pin over Skye Blue to capture her first championship in AEW as the new TBS Champion.
Blockbuster Signing
How it all went down...
Will Ospreay walked out to the ring, signed the AEW contract.
Ospreay mentioned having to finish up his time with New Japan Pro Wrestling and will be ready for AEW Revolution.
Ospreay tells Tony Khan to line up the best he has for Wembley Stadium.
Texas Death Match
Hangman Adam Page vs Swerve Strickland
Highlights
Hangman Page doesn't wait for his entrance and attacks Swerve in the ring at the end of his entrance
Page hits a powerbomb early on
Page hits a Buck Shot less than 30 seconds into the match
Page chucks a chair at Swerves head and ducktapes his hands together
Page uses a staple gun to staple Swerve twice on the chest, on both arms, and his back
Swerve is busted open and Page uses the staple gun again to staple both cheeks of Swerve
Page lays underneath a bleeding Swerve and lets the blood drip into his MOUTH before spitting it into the air (Ewww. That's gross as hell sir.)
Page attempts to hit Swerve with a barbded wire chair but Swerve stops him with a low blow
Swerve laughs maniacally while using the staple gun to staple himself multiple times
Swerve gives a Death Valley Driver to Page onto a cinder block
Swerve gives Page a Piledriver on the barricade
Page does a moonsault with the steel chair wrapped in barbedwire from the top rope to Swerve on the outside
Swerve attempts a Tombstone Piledriver to Page on the barbedwire steel chair, Page reverses and instead hits Swerve with a piledriver to Swerve
Swerve hits Page on the back with the barbed steel chair and part of the wire gets wrapped around Page's face and caught in his hair briefly
Swerve hits Page with double knees onto the barbed steelchair
Swerve dumps broken bottle glass onto Page's back and hits a 450 Splash onto him and then hits a JML Driver for a near fall.
Page does a Moonsault Fallaway Slam to Swerve onto a barbed wire wooden platform
Page gives a Buck Shot to Swerve who has the barbed wire wrapped around his neck
Prince Nana pulls Page out of the ring to break the 10 count
Brian Cage interferes and attacks Page with several powerbombs
Page wraps the barbed wire around his fist and clubs Brian Cage to take him out
Prince Nana hit Page on the back with a steal chair and Page gives him the Dead Eye on the table on the outside.
Swerve hit Page on the back with a cinderblock but Page starts to break the referees count
Swerve uses a chain wrapped over the top rope to choke Page on the outside and Page fails to make the referees 10 count. Swerve walks out of the match victorious.
I'd be mad as hell if I had to perform after that match.
Tag Team Match
Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho "Golden Jets" vs The Young Bucks
Highlights
Omega hits a springboard moonsault on the outside
Jericho does a double lionsault onto the Young Bucks
Matt Jackson attempts a Walls of Jericho
Matt Jackson fakes out Omega with a super kick and instead does a DDT
Nick Jackson does a double Northern Lights onto Omega and Jericho
Nick Jackson does a diving Senton onto Jericho to allow Matt to get a near fall
Nick Jackson gives Jericho a low blow
Matt Jackson give Omega a low blow and Nick Jackson hits the Judas Effect onto Omega
Nick Jackson does a springboard senton onto Omega from inside the ring to the outside
Matt Jackson gives a One Winged Angel to Omega
Nick Jackson reverses a Judas Effect with a Superkick and Jericho responds back with a Judas Effect with the other arm
Kenny Omega gives Matt Jackson a One Winged Angel to get the victory
Nick Jackson throws a temper tantrum at ringside tossing a chair, ripping off a piece of the barricade and tossing it, tearing apart the announce desk, and smacking the camera
The Young bucks refuse to shake Omega's hand
Matt Jackson throws a tantrum of his own using the steel chair to smack the ringpost and also destroys the top of the barricade off
AEW World Championship
MJF vs Jay White
Adam Cole makes his way to the ring on crutches.
Jay White makes his way to the ring with the AEW World Championship and The Gunns
MJF Drives the Ambulance back to the arena and limps his way to the ring, spending the match focused on his injured leg
The Gunns get involved various times with the referees back turned, but get cuaght when attempting to use a steel chair on MJF and get ejected from ringside
Jay White smacks Adam Cole in the face, takes off MJF's shirt, spits in it, and throws it at Adam Cole
MJF bites Jay White on the forehead
Adam Cole tells MJF to "Do a dive!" which gets MJF kicked in the injured leg before he can connect
MJF puts Jay White onto the announce table and it immediately crumbles (Those damn tables!)
MJF goes to the top rope anyways without the table and delivers an elbow drop onto Jay White to the outside on the ground with his body bounces off of Jay White from the impact.
MJF gives a scary piledriver to Jay White which Tazz on commentary mentions is how he broke his neck and put him out for 9 months.
MJF gives a leaping cutter over the top rope to Jay White from the ring to the outside
Adam Cole teases throwing in the towel for MJF while Jay White has MJF locked in a Figure 4 Leg Lock.
Adam Cole tries to hit Jay White with the ROH Tag Team Championship, Jay White snatches it and hits MJF with the title instead and gets a near fall on MJF
MJF kicks away Jay White which knocks White into the referee
Adam Cole attempts to give the Dynamite Diamond ring to MJF and Jay White gets it instead
MJF counters a strike from White with a low blow and takes the Diamond Ring back
The Gunns run back out to attack MJF but it backfires as MJF quickly gets rids of them both
MJF strikes Jay White with the Dynamite Diamond Ring to retain his AEW World Championship
